Oak Smoking Chips
If there was ever an award for the most popular wood smoking flavour it would go to Oak. With its rounded characteristic strong aroma and its altogether versatility, it makes the perfect chip for most foods where the heavy smoke flavour is needed; for example, with red meats, game and fish.
Kindwood oak chips are made from untreated sawmill waste and quite possibly the most sustainable oak wood chips in the UK. Graded to a chip size of approximately 6mm to 10mm in size, ideal for use in a hot smoker or on your barbecue.
Our oak chips are kiln-dried using our waste heat capture system, therefore it would seem a waste to soak the chips in water, which is why we don't recommend it. For the best results use with a stainless steel smoker box.
Our chips are packed by hand and available in bags of 0.7kg.
